Locks for Love 09

Year 10 Anniversary of my family donating to Locks for Love, which provides wigs to children with cancer who lose their hair as a result of the treatments. We still hold the national record for Most Hair Donated among an immediate family, and I personally have donated over 75 inches now. The minimum is 10 inches per donation, and we usually donate every other year in the Springtime.

Nyaw - the short hair's cute on you!

I love Locks for Love. I once donated about 12 inches of hair at one go to them. And then I decided that I really liked my hair longer.

I could donate, but I know I couldn't handle letting it go. I have almost always had long hair, and I'm just never comfortable if I cut it shorter. *shrugs*

It's so much easier than giving blood. ^_^;; And I guess I like being able to be the best at something :> Other than my mom, I think I've given the most of my family. o_O;

Yeah, see, blood-donation's never bothered me, so that's my big thing.

Except that I've only just become eligible again after getting tattooed. It was really frustrating not being able to donate blood for a year.

I get sick when I try to donate blood - have to sit around eating crackers & drinking water until I'm okay again before the nurses will let me go. And as recently as my trip to China, that affliction was still with me. =_=

Also I want my ears re-double-pierced DX You could actually see them now that my hair's short again!

I had to take out my upper ear piercings because they weren't healing right. But I just went and got a third piercing lower and am loving it.

Mine were pierced wrong to start, and for awhile (in my dark period) I stopped wearing earrings altogether, but my 1st set is about 8 years old whereas the 2nd set is only 2 years old, so one of the holes (that always ended up bloody b/c of the wrong angle of piercing) closed back up. Now I've just given up and want the 2nd set repierced correctly.

Yeah, I just sort of...accidentally repierced my second holes after they closed up.

Yeah that's a little shorter than I wanted it cut, but it's for a good cause, so it's fine. I wanted enough to put it back in a ponytail, and right now I can only manage a half-tail, or a really, really tiny ponytail.

I just keep thinking about how I want my blonde back :( but if I dye my hair, I can't donate anymore. :-/

Mm. All of my dyed hair has pretty much grown out and been trimmed off by now, but I don't think I'll ever be doing it again. It was kind of cool having a different hair color, but I've gotten to like my hair too much in the past...year, really, to do anything else to it.

I continually bounce between liking short hair because it's easy to maintain, yet liking long hair because you can do more stuff with it.

Of course I have more incentive to keep it long now >_> Apparently my boyfriend really likes it when it's long & down (i.e. not ponytail) ^^;; See the formal pictures we took at the Genealogical Society event.
